These terms apply to the Follow The Villa app and website ("the app", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the app you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
An unofficial fan app
Follow The Villa is an independent, unofficial fan app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Aston Villa Football Club, nor by any of the platforms whose content it displays. All trademarks and content belong to their respective owners.
Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
- Keep your sign-in details secure. You're responsible for what happens on your account.
- One account per person, please.
Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users
Your display name, profile photo and predictions are visible to other users. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. You must not use a display name or photo, or otherwise use the app, in a way that is:
- offensive, obscene, sexually explicit, hateful or discriminatory;
- harassing, threatening or bullying towards anyone;
- impersonating another person, Aston Villa Football Club, or the app or its staff;
- spam, advertising, or otherwise misleading;
- unlawful, or infringing someone else's rights.
You also must not cheat or interfere with the app, for example by automating predictions, running multiple accounts, or trying to access other people's accounts or our systems.
Reporting and blocking. You can report or block any user from their profile (tap their name on the leaderboard, then …). We review reports within 24 hours and, where content breaks these terms, remove it and act against the user responsible.
What we can do. We may reset a display name, remove a photo, or suspend or delete an account that breaks these terms, with or without notice.
The Predictor
The Predictor is a free game played for fun. There's no entry fee, no betting, and no cash prizes unless we say otherwise for a specific competition. Points and rankings are calculated from the match results we record; we may correct results and points if a mistake is made, and our decision on scoring is final.
Third-party content
The app shows videos, podcasts, news and other content published by third parties on platforms such as YouTube, TikTok and Spotify. That content belongs to its owners and is governed by the platforms' own terms. We don't control it and aren't responsible for it. If you believe content in the app infringes your rights, contact us and we'll look into it.
The service
We work hard to keep the app running and accurate, but it's provided "as is": we can't promise it will always be available, error-free, or that fixtures, results and other information will always be correct. We may change or withdraw features at any time.
To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer under UK law, or any liability that can't be limited by law.
Ending your account
You can stop using the app at any time, and delete your account from Account → Delete account in the app or at followthevilla.com/delete-account. See our Privacy Policy for what happens to your data.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. If you keep using the app after a change, you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
